WORKSHOPS
IT'S TIME TO GET CREATIVE!
I offer both public and private workshops teaching the basics of monoprint and collage as well as textile upcycling and mending techniques.
My workshops are aimed at beginners or anyone looking for an opportunity to let go of their usual creative expectations. As a workshop facilitator, I encourage creative play and experimentation, supporting fun-filled workshops without the usual pressures of getting it "right".
Monoprint & Collage Workshops
Participants will create their very own monoprint and collage artwork (landscape, portrait, or abstract). Monoprint is fast-paced and experimental. Collage is slow-paced and considered. We start by making yummy monoprint textures and then use these textures to make collage artworks full of colour, texture and joy. Please be aware that although I use some elements of traditional monoprint, I have adapted the process significantly to achieve a unique aesthetic, this adapted process is what you will learn.
Textile Upcycling and Mending Workshops
Textile Upcycling: participants will create their very own textile artwork using second-hand materials donated by the community (workshop options include: weaving, apllique/ textile collage & hand-embroidery). Mending Workshops: participants will learn basic visible mending techniques (hand-sewing) to repair and give new life to their clothes, using second-hand materials donated by the community.
These workshops are an opportunity to get creative whilst learning practical skills that prevent textile waste.
My workshops are well organised and informative to ensure that those who want to continue
practicing the processes at home can do so with confidence.
Groups are kept to 6-8 people depending on venue to ensure that you get as much
personal attention as possible to complete your creation in time.
My workshops are usually 4 hours with a 30-minute break included.
All materials are provided, but please bring an apron/ clothes you're happy
to get paint on with you.
